A Biodynamic Vineyard

Many years ago, the templars were already farming the lands of the future vineyard Clos de l'Ours.

We changed our lives and started our adventure in 2012 with a beautiful and old plot of vines of 15ha in a very fresh sector of Provence. A green and wild Provence, in the village of Cotignac. Surrounded by the forest, the vineyard is at the heart of the green and wild Provence, in the vilage of Cotignac, between the Gorges du Verdon and the Mediterranean see.

Our "Clos de l'Ours" vineyard, at the very north of Côtes de Provence Appellation, benefits from a specific micro-climate.  Large range of temperature, especially in summer, with very hot days and fresh nights bring a slow and regular maturity to our fruits.

Thanks to the calcareous and limestone soil, our vines can find water and all they need to grow quietly. Our old vines (50 years old in average) go deeply into the soil to express a nice salinity into our wines.

We have 8 different grapes: Rolle, Clairette and Ugni-Blanc for white wine and Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Carignan for red and rosé wines.

Our philosophy? Let nature take its course...

Our vineyard has been cultivated with organic process since 2000, certified since 2003. We are now working in Biodynamie and we are a member of Biodyvin.

We work with horses into our vines, welcome sheeps during winter to improve biodiversity in our vineyard.

Many birds, bats, insects or mammals live all year long into the vineyard and it shows a living ecosystem and living soils.

Harvest are made exclusively by hands to preserve the fruits.

Into the cellar, we work with wild yeasts, no filtration on red wines. The vinification are made in stainless steel vat, oak cask and barrel or concrete eggs.
